North Park's Sanchez, Kuligowski named CCIW Baseball Players of the Week
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Park’s Tony Sanchez and Steve Kuligowski were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week Tuesday. Sanchez, a senior catcher from Plainfield, Ill., and Plainfield South High School (Business major), helped the Vikings go 3-1 last week as he batted .500 with seven hits in 14 at-bats, five runs, seven RBI and a .785 slugging percentage. He also had a double and a home run. He finished 3-for-4 with three RBI during a 14-2 win over Dominican on March 20, 1-for-2 with two RBI in an 8-3 game one win over Wisconsin Lutheran on March 24, 2-for-4 with an RBI in an 10-6 game two loss to Wisconsin Lutheran, and 1-for-4 with an RBI in a 3-1 win against Wisconsin-Platteville on March 25. Kuligowski, a senior pitcher from Grayslake, Ill., and Parkland College (Business major), went 2-0 with a 0.68 ERA for the Vikings last week. He gave up only one earned run while striking out 12 and walking only two.
