The Clark C. Griffith League released its player of the week for June 6th – July
29th. Max Eckert, from the Beltway Blue Caps took home the honor for player of the
week. Eckert, a Hyattsville, MD native, is a 6’2” 195 lb, R/R that plays for Villa Julie
College as a catcher and first basemen.

Eckert is in the top 5 in the CGL for batting average, slugging percentage, and
on-base percentage. Eckert hit .421 over the last week including three home runs and
nine RBI. Eckert’s three home runs place him in a tie for first place in the CGL with DC
Grays slugger Mike Marion.

On June 29th, Eckert had 2 hits, 3 RBI’s, and scored 1 run against Maryland Orioles East catapulting the
Blue Caps to a season high 17-5 win. He had 3 hits and 1 run against the Vienna Senators, he went 3-3 with 1
RBI, and 1 run against the Raiders, and rounding out the week he went 1-3, scoring 1 run against the Nationals.
