PERFORMER
Clint Wherley - Illinois College - Junior
DH - Beardstown Ill/Beardstown
Wherley hit .421 (8-19) last week to help the Blueboys post a 5-1 mark, including a 2-0 start in conference action. The junior designated hitter was responsible for the game one win over Knox, as he clubbed a two-run walkoff home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Illinois College a 6-4 victory. The home run was Wherley’s second of the week, as his two-run blast against Eureka on Monday highlighted a four-RBI performance and gave the Blueboys a 6-2 win and a doubleheader sweep. He also added six runs scored and a pair of doubles on the week.


PITCHER
Rick Krajewski - Beloit College - Junior
LHP - Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake
Krajewski picked up two victories last week, earning wins over Rockford and Cornell to improve to 3-1 on the season. During a 9-7 win over Rockford, the junior lefty went 6.1 innings, giving up three earned runs on six hits while striking out two and walking three. Krajewski did not allow a hit and struck out two in five frames against Cornell before giving way to Chris Welborn, who threw the final two innings of the 2-0 win for a combined one-hitter. Krajewski has thrown 24 innings this season with a 2.25 ERA and a .174 opponents batting average.
