Kean's Augustine Participates in Midwest League All-Star Game

Burlington, Iowa (6/18/08) – Former Cougar Joe Augustine (Highland Park, N.J.) has been selected and took part in the Midwest League All-Star game on June 17th at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan.
Augustine, who is in his second season in the minor system of the Kansas City Royals, is currently playing for the Single-A Burlington Bees. Through 13 games, Augustine is 1-0 with five saves and a 2.26 ERA. In 51 and two thirds innings, he has fanned 48 and walked 19. In his last five appearances, Augustine has tallied four saves.
During the All-Star game, Augustine tossed a scoreless seventh inning allowing one walk and one hit, he struck out one.
Augustine still holds several records for the Cougars with the single season mark for wins (9) and strikeouts (103). In his four year career at Kean he accumulated 25 wins with 224 strikeouts and 14 complete games.
