WEST DIVISION

CO-HITTERS OF THE WEEK
Derek David, 3B, Sr., McMurry
McMurry senior third baseman Derek David (Richmond, TX / B.F. Terry) homered in four consecutive games and drove in 12 runs to guide a 3-1 week that included a sweep of Schreiner. David, who now has an ASC-leading 14 home runs on the season, also hit a double, walked twice and scored seven runs.

Taylor Zambreski, OF, Fr., Howard Payne
Howard Payne freshman outfielder Taylor Zambreski (Aledo, TX / AHS) had three, three-hit games with seven doubles and a home run as the Yellow Jackets swept ASC West opponent Sul Ross State. Zambreski also drove in six runs and scored seven times in 14 at-bats.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Clint Johnston, RHP, Jr., McMurry
McMurry junior right-hander Clint Johnston (Colleyville, TX / Grapevine HS) tossed a complete-game, three-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts to defeat Schreiner. Johnston, who takes the division’s top pitching honor for the second time this season, walked just one batter over the nine-inning game and retired the last 11 hitters he faced.

EAST DIVISION

HITTER OF THE WEEK
Paige Hodges, C/3B, Jr., Mississippi College
Mississippi College junior third baseman/catcher Paige Hodges (Crowley, LA / LSU-Eunice) paced a 3-1 week by batting .667 with two home runs, three doubles and seven RBIs. Hodges, who went 8-for-10 in a doubleheader sweep of Spalding, scored eight runs and did not strike out on the week. He also threw out the only runner that tried to steal on him.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Blake Booher, RHP, Jr., Texas-Tyler
Texas-Tyler junior right-hander Blake Booher (Hurst, TX / L.D. Bell HS) tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout to defeat Texas-Dallas in Game 3 and give the Patriots the ASC East series win. Booher struck out 10 batters and issued just two walks.


OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES

HITTERS: Ozarks C Scott Diaz hit a walk-off grand slam to give the Eagles an 8-4 win over LeTourneau. . . . East Texas Baptist 2B Matt Hale hit a game-winning homer in the top of the ninth of a 6-5 victory over Wiley. . . . Texas-Tyler 3B Joe Towns batted .462 with two homers and a double over four games. . . . Texas-Dallas 2B Chris Biguenet hit three home runs and a double in the first two games of a series with Texas-Tyler. . . .Louisiana College OF Chris Magee batted .462 in his first series as a starter, including a ninth-inning double of a come-from-behind win over ETBU. . . . . Hardin-Simmons OF Wayne Pimpton hit a homer in three straight games of a series win against Concordia Texas. . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor OF Earnest Pena batted .583 with two homers and two doubles over a 3-1 week. . . . Concordia Texas 1B Chad Thielepape hit a homer and two doubles over three games. . . . Texas Lutheran 3B/DH Joseph Brade hit .444 in a series against UMHB.

PITCHERS: Ozarks RHP Bruce Cameron threw a complete-game shutout without a walk to beat LeTourneau. . . . Louisiana College RHP Chris Robeau threw 5 1/3 innings of no-hit ball in a series-clinching win over ETBU. . . . Mississippi College RHP Nathan Stewart struck out 11 batters over seven innings in a loss to Rhodes. . . . East Texas Baptist RHP Matt Schimpf allowed just two runs over seven innings in a no-decision against Louisiana College. . . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor RHP R.B. Garza struck out 11 batters in a complete-game effort to beat Texas Lutheran. . . . Hardin-Simmons LHP James Sweatman picked up the win over CTX by allowing just one run over 6 1/3 innings. . . . Howard Payne RHP T.C. McShan surrendered just two runs over six innings to beat Sul Ross State. . . . Texas Lutheran RHP Robert Conley threw 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win against UMHB.
