Howard Payne held Schreiner to just seven total hits in 8-1 and 3-0 Yellow Jacket victories Wednesday afternoon at Don Shepard Park. Howard Payne had 16 total hits at the plate while six Yellow Jacket pitchers held Schreiner to seven hits for the day. Seth Owen in the game one start and Jonathan George in relief combined on the mound to hold Schreiner to just one hit. In game two, Dylan Vilaros posted the win in relief throwing 3.0 innings allowing two hits and striking out two. Preston Newman went 4.0 innings in the start and Brenden Clanton and Evan Rodriguez each pitched an inning with Rodrguez picking up the save.

Oglethorpe continued its outstanding play to start the season Tuesday afternoon, as they pounded the Covenant Scots at their home field on Lookout Mountain, winning 14-0 in seven innings to improve to 3-0 on the young season. The Stormy Petrels scored three runs each in the third and fourth innings, then blew the game open with a 6-run seventh inning to clinch the victory after Covenant failed to answer in the bottom half of the inning.

A strong relief appearance by Christian Poulsen and a grand slam by Johnny Carpenter highlighted Maryville's 11-3 road win over Berry on Tuesday afternoon in Rome, Georgia. Maryville's Poulsen finished his debut in orange and garnet with five innings of stellar relief. The right-handed junior from Schaumburg, Illinois earned the win on the mound after scattering three hits, recording three strikeouts, and not allowing a run.

Christian Ezzell and Beau Shealy each recorded their first collegiate RBI's in Brevard's 12-5 setback at the hands of Toccoa Falls on Tuesday afternoon at Gil Coan Field. Sophomore pitcher Kross Robinson put in five innings of work, struck out four batters while not allowing a hit in his second career start. Brevard right hander Drake Black suffered the loss and is 0-1 on the season. Black allowed four earned runs on three hits in three innings played, but also was able to strike out four Eagles.

LaGrange coach David Kelton got his 100th career win as the 10th-ranked Panthers clipped Emory 8-0 on Tuesday at Cleaveland Field in Williamson Stadium. It was the third straight win for the Panthers (3-1) over the Eagles (1-2). Five pitchers combined on a three-hitter for the Panthers' second straight shutout. Austin Fain (1-0) started and threw the first three innings. Zach English, Gibson Bittner, Grayson Bagwell, and Coston Anderson followed Fain.
