- In the third, McMahon left Dominican with the bases loaded and once again the AU offense answered in the bottom. Mayes singled with one out and after moving to third on a wild pitch and single from Woods, Mayes scored on a ground out by Popovich.
- Dominican scored one run in the fourth but McMahon once again left the Stars with the bases loaded.
- As they did in the fourth, Dominican scored and tied the game in the sixth but again left the bases loaded.
- In the bottom half of the inning, AU manufactured a run with two outs. Nick Turner singled and scored from first on a double from Jeff LaPage.
- Woods came in to relieve McMahon in the seventh. A lead-off single followed an error on Woods and back to back hit batsmen that tied the game. Dominican took the lead on a double play ball and despite loading the bases again, Woods wiggled out of the jam.
- AU showed resolve and answered immediately in the bottom of the eighth. Cale Sparks and Turner led off with singles and a third straight single from LaPage scored Sparks and tied the game.
- The two team left runners stranded in the ninth but could not score and the game headed to extra innings.
- Both teams went to their bullpens in the extra time.
- For the fifth time in the game, Dominican left the bases loaded in the 12th inning but Spartan Henry Erickson got a fly out to end the threat.
- In the 13th, Turner led off with a double and moved to third when LaPage reached on an error. Dominican intentionally walked Nicholas Mathey to load the bases. With one out, Mayes hit a fly ball to right that was deep enough to score Turner with the winning run and AU was victorious 5-4.
