Thomas More is PAC Champs again

The 24th-ranked and No. 3 seeded Thomas More Saints No. 4 seeded
Westminster, 9-1, tonight (Saturday, May 14, 2011) in the
Presidents' Athletic Conference Tournament championship game at Bob
Cene Park in Struthers, Ohio.
With the win, the Saints improve to 28-7 and win their second
straight PAC Championship. With the championship the Saints
also earn the PAC's automatic bid to next week's NCAA Division III
Tournament. With the loss, the Titans fall to 25-16.
The Saints scored four in the second, one in the fourth, one in
the sixth, two in the seventh and one in the eighth, while
sophomore David Etscheid pitched a complete game two-hitter and
gave up one run and struck out four.
Sophomore shortstop David Kennett led the Saints at the plate as
he was three-for-three with two runs batted-in and two runs
scored. Three other Saints had multiple hits in the game as
sophomore Jason Handley was two-for-five with a double and five
RBI, junior first baseman Andrew Thole was two-for-five with a run
scored and senior designated hitter Nick Ryan was two-for-five with
a run scored.
