Sophomore Pete Rosa rapped out a pair of hits and sparked a pair
of late inning rallies, including a five-run outburst in the top of
the ninth, to lift Johnson & Wales to an 8-4 non-league victory
over Mass-Maritime at Commodore Hendy Field. The visiting
Wildcats trailed 4-3 heading into their final at-bat, but Rosa
evened matters at 4-4 with a one-out RBI single before senior Bryan
Sayers plated the go-ahead run after being hit by a pitch with two
outs and the bases loaded. Rosa scored on a passed ball to
extend Johnson & Wales' lead to 6-4, and a two-run single off
the bat of senior Mike Murphy capped the rally for the visitors,
who overcame a pair of one-run deficits in the late innings.

1 Shenandoah reached the 25-win mark this spring by sweeping a
non-league baseball doubleheader at Lebanon Valley. Shenandoah
needed 10 innings to win game one, 7-4, before Brian Goddard threw
a complete game in a 5-1 victory in the nightcap.
Junior Mike Russo hurled a four-hitter as Kean defeated
Rutgers-Camden, 8-1, in NJAC action at Campbell's Field.
An OAC doubleheader sweep of host John Carroll extended
Heidelberg’s overall record to 20-4, marking the 12th
consecutive season the program has reached the 20-win plateau. Heidelberg kept its streak alive with a 2-0 win in game one
and followed it with an 11-2 win in the night cap. Against OAC
foes the Berg improves to 4-0.
Salem State took advantage of seven hits, a hit batsman and two
errors to score eight times in the third inning en route to an 8-2
victory over the Southern Maine Huskies in non-conference baseball
action at Wainwright Field. The win was the fifth in the last six
game for the Vikings and got them back to the 500 mark at 9-9
overall.
After losing five of its last six games, Westminster (Pa.) snapped
out of its recent funk in decisive fashion. The Titans scored 12
runs in the ninth inning to wallop
Waynesburg, 16-0, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at
Waynesburg.
Washington & Jefferson took an early 3-0 lead, but
couldn’t hold on and dropped a 6-5 game at Geneva in walkoff
fashion. Geneva junior Jon Bushmire laced a double to right center
off of Presidents freshman Randall Risch to score pinch runner
Sonny Bozza from second and give the Golden Tornadoes the
victory.
New Jersey City cruised through the first seven innings of its
NJAC game against William Paterson and led 3-0, before the Pioneers
rallied for two runs in the eighth to draw within one, then reeled
off two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, aided by an error,
to edge NJCU, 4-3, in a dramatic league game on Jeff Albies
Field.
