In its first ever game as the #1 team in the country,
Christopher Newport blasted a pair of home runs and held off a
late rally to win, 9-6, at Gallaudet. Connor Madden hit his
team-leading eighth homer, a three-run shot that was part of a
3-for-5 performance to lead the Captains offense past the
Bison.
For the second time this season, Pacific
played a game to a rare deadlock, the Boxers tying 6-6 with
Willamette in a non-conference baseball game at John Lewis Field.
The Boxers came back from a 6-3 deficit by scoring three runs in
the eighth inning, plating the tying run on a squeeze bunt by Sam
Kaplan. The Boxers left two runners in scoring position in the
ninth and neither team out runners on base in the extra
innings. The game was called after the 11th inning due to
darkness as John Lewis Field is not lighted.
Senior Ryan Walsh hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning as the UMass-Boston Beacons rallied from a two-run deficit and went on to defeat Southern Maine 9-8 in a Little East Conference baseball game at the USM Baseball Stadium. The win gave the visiting Beacons a sweep of the teams' regular-season series.
Plattsburgh State snapped its four-game losing streak by taking both ends of a non-conference doubleheader against Clarkson, winning 3-2 and 7-2. Casey Mohrien gave Plattsburgh a great effort out of the bullpen in the opening game, giving up just two hits in five scoreless innings.

Catholic had a tough time scoring runs and the Cardinals
fell to Mary Washington 2-1. The Eagles scored the
winning run in the bottom of the ninth when Jake Rudman singled in
Mitchell Herringshaw. Torey Mancari got the win for Mary Washington
on the mound after he struck out six Cardinals in three
innings.
New Jersey City scored three runs in the fifth inning to open a
5-0 lead and after St. Joseph's chipped away with two runs in the
seventh and eighth innings, rookie left-hander Zack Markle tossed a
1-2-3 ninth inning to earn the save and preserve the win as the
Gothic Knights defeated the Bears, 5-4, in a non-conference
baseball game played at MCU Park—the home of the Brooklyn
Cyclones.
