Marietta takes top spot

The Marietta Pioneers received twelve first place votes to Christopher Newport's eleven and is the new number one team in the latest D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25. The remaining two first place votes were divided between no. 3 Shenandoah and no. 4 Kean. Texas-Tyler, winners of the ASC East, is the fifth ranked team in week 9.
Sixth ranked Linfield is one of four teams (Christopher Newport, Redlands, Trinity (Texas) are the others) in the Top 25 that have already punched their ticket to the NCAA playoff. The Wildcats are followed by Eastern Connecticut, Heidleberg, UW-Whitewater and St. Scholastica to round out the top 10 teams.
North Park, one of four teams within a game of the top of the CCIW and Adrian are new to the top 25 this week. Adrian is one three teams that have beaten Marietta on the field of play. Augustana, losers of two to North Park last weekend drops out as did St. Olaf following a 1-3 week in conference play.
