D'Amato no hits Utica

On Saturday April, 9, St. John Fisher won both games of its
doubleheader over Utica. In the opener, freshman Justin D'Amato
pitched a no-hitter in an 11-0 win. The Cardinals won the second
game, 7-1.
Freshman Justin D'Amato pitched his first career no-hitter in a
complete game shutout with one walk and five strikeouts.
D'Amato, who tossed a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts in his last
game, improves to 6-1 on the year with the win.
Fisher recorded 13 hits, with senior Leo Fusilli contributing three
RBI with a bases-loaded double in the sixth inning. Senior Ross
Langevin went 1-for-2 from the plate, adding two RBI, while junior
Ben Ward and freshman Brad Rush each went 3-for-4.
The last no-hitter by a Fisher pitcher came four years ago to the day. In April 9, 2007, Ryan Hanson threw a no-hitter in a 3-0 win over Keuka.
