Ohio Wesleyan gets even with upset

Sophomore catcher James Toland crushed a 2-run homer to cap a 4-run sixth inning that lifted Ohio Wesleyan to a win over third-ranked Heidelberg in non-conference play in Tiffin. Heidelberg let a 5-2 lead evaporate in the sixth inning when Ohio Wesleyan plated four runs off of three hits, one being Tolans's home run, and one Heidelberg miscue to push the final score to 6-5.
Oneonta State trailed by a run entering the bottom of the ninth inning today before plating a pair to defeat visiting Fredonia 5-4 in SUNYAC action. With the win, Oneonta sweeps the regular season series from the Blue Devils after having won both games of a twin bill yesterday.
The tenth ranked Warhawks raised their record to 7-2 with a doubleheader sweep of Ripon at Prucha Field at Jim Miller Stadium, winning 19-4 and 14-6. Ripon is 2-10. The Warhawks combined a season high 25 hits with five Ripon errors in the 19-4 win in game one.
Williams remained red-hot, knocking off Gustavus Adolphus 13-8 for its seventh straight victory. Williams had 18 hits in the victory, led by Stephan Maier, who went 3 for 6 with a double, triple and four RBI. Cameron Susk was 4 for 6 with two RBI. Senior Dan Marcet hurled five innings of two-run relief to earn the victory.
Strong pitching, hitting and defense led No. 4 Marietta to a 10-0 road victory over host Washington & Jefferson. The Pioneers, who entered with the top-ranked pitching staff and 17th ranked defense, improved to 15-2 by posting their sixth shutout, retiring the final 17 Presidents (4-8), not committing an error and collecting 10 hits.
Scott Hansen and Adam Derner each had three hits as William Paterson rolled past John Jay for a 15-0 victory at Jeff Albies Field. The game was halted in the middle of the seventh inning when a light rain began to mix with snow flurries.
Five Keene State players had multiple hits, as the Owls dropped the Western New England Golden Bears 8-4, in a key regional game on Thursday afternoon at George E. Trelease Memorial Park. The game was originally supposed to be a neutral site game at SUNY Farmingdale back on March 6th.
Sophomore second baseman Austin Phillips' two-run, RBI single in the top of the eighth inning lifted Becker to a 3-2 win over Rhode Island in non-conference baseball action held at frigid Rochdale Park.
