Rose-Hulman and Dickinson get Sunday wins

Rose-Hulman scored three times in the first and second innings,
then added six runs in the fourth frame to top Alma 15-4 in the
baseball home opener on Sunday at Art Nehf Field. The Fightin'
Engineers pounded out 16 hits in the contest, with five Rose-Hulman
players recording multiple-hit games. Bobby Newman and Chris
Stemple had three hits each to lead the attack.

Dickinson moved to 9-1, sweeping Albright 10-1, 9-1 on Sunday at
Winter Haven, Florida. Will Daley (3 hits, 3 strikeouts) and Sean
White (4 hits, 13 strikeouts) each pitched complete games. James
Santoro was the offensive leader in game one going 3-for-3. Tyler
Rosa led the Devils in the second game with a perfect 4-for-4
performance.
Heidelberg extended its record to 8-0 with two victories Sunday at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida. The Heidelbergopened the day with a 5-2 win over Montclair State and returned to post a 15-5 victory over Utica.
No. 3 Shenandoah wrapped up its third straight USA South baseball sweep with a 14-3 victory over Greensboro. Shenandoah scored at least one run in every inning except the second on its way to the win over the Pride. Christopher Newport kept pace with Shenandoah as they defeated Ferrum College 6-1 at Captains Park. The first games scheduled for the Christopher Newport and Shenandaoh are in three weeks.

Noah Solomon pitched a three-hit shutout to lead Trinity (Texas) over Millsaps 10-0. The Tigers are now tied with the Majors for the lead in the SCAC west.
The 13th-ranked St. Scholastica baseball team swept Muhlenberg at the former spring training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers, winning game one, 10-3 and game two, 6-2. In game one, the Saints did not walk a single batter and committed just one error in the 10-3 victory. It was the third time in the first four games, the Saints put a 10-spot on the board.
Amherst used strong pitching performances from Max McKenna and Pat Harris to open its 2011 season with a 5-4 upset win over 15th-ranked UMass-Boston.
Mitchell Herringshaw had three hits, including the game-winning two-run single with two out in the bottom of the ninth to lead 24th ranked Mary Washington to a 7-6 win over #25 Salisbury in a CAC contest at Dickinson Stadium.
Carthage edged Rhodes 3-2 at South County Regional Park in Punta Gorda, Florida. Luke Watson, making his first collegiate appearance, picked up the win with six and one-third shutout innings, walking none and striking out six batters. Mitch Lochen earned his first save.
Fitchburg State grabbed a day doubleheader split with Endicott. The Gulls took game one with a 9-1 victory, while the Falcons rebounded with a 5-0 shutout in game two. Mike Nich allowed eight hits in the win for Endicott. Fitchburg State bounced back in the nightcap behind a shutout pitching effort from Randy Ortiz, limiting Endicott to only seven hits while notching three strikeouts.
Mike Eaton went 6 for 6 with five RBI to lead Southern Maine Huskies to an 11-2 victory over the Farmingdale State Rams. Eaton had a double, triple and four singles to become the first Southern Maine player to have six hits in a game in eleven years.
